I'm looking to pick one up this week.

Anyone aware of the best deal?

Cheers

I got an email from sony saying the PS3 is now £199 so you may find some deals in the coming weeks as the cheaper machines filter through the network.

Sainsburys had the for about £185-190 a couple of days ago so they may have them cheap still if you just want the machine.

Cheers,

Ideally a PS3 and black ops - might check gumtree too (although 2nd hand wouldn't be ideal!)

Amazon have the 160gb for £180.

You could always get the game 2nd hand or get it on sale somewhere.

If you go second hand make sure it's a slim. The fat ones are quite unreliable.

Cheers for the replies guys.

I've just been offered a 80Gb console (don't think it's a slim) for £130 inc COD Black Ops.

I've asked to see it working prior to pick up if I buy it.

What do we think? Anything to look out for like the RROD on 360s?

Yes, they are prone to YLOD (yellow light of death) and you cannot permanently repair them, and Sony won't want to know. And that sounds £30 too expensive. New ones are less than £200 and you get a warranty, that's where my money would go.

Always be carefull when buying a second hand PS3/XBOX.

Like the poster above said they could have had a YLOD failure and the owner has done a temporary fix so he can sell it on but the fix only last weeks to a few months.

i'd buy brand new mate, i've had a couple of the pre slims go on me, the slim's have been o.k so far. Get the 160GB it's more than enough space and cheaper than the 320gb. Try ps3-monster they always seem to list the best deals
