Can we find out if an unauthorised transaction (GF knows nothing of it, on a card she has never lent to her son) was placed through the PSN, on GF's sons machine?

She suspects him of pinching her card from her bag, but both of us are very hesitant to draw any conclusions. It would be better to find out if there was a way to see on his PS3 whether he had made any purchases.

We have a bank statement which shows £11.49 was debited by Sony "Sony online services internet", and are expecting him to deny it was him.

Same thing again with "*RUNESCAPE2S" which appeared on GF's bank statement.

What is Runescape2s?
We asked him yesterday.
Yesterday he said the "2S" had to do with hackers, was not him, and was not the legitimate runescape company. PayPal have investigated and declined to credit her, saying there was no evidence of anything suspicious or any wrong doing.

Any advice from PS3 users on finding "purchase history" on his PS3 appreciated.
Comments also welcome about Runescape, what is RUNESCAPE2S, can someone check their own statement - is this a hacked site mimicking Runescape, or is the 2S what Runescape put on peoples statements.

Thanks in advance!

Has she EVER used it to pay for something on his PS3?

I'm fairly certain Playstation Network (PSN) stores the card details and makes it ridiculously easy to purchase/rent goods, without having to confirm card details.. It could easily be done unknowingly.

Definitely 100% no. The card is new, has never been given to him, he has never asked for it.

We know. He purchased something before 'by accident' - we asked him to make sure he didnt do it again.

The three transactions all happened within 4 days of each other.

As said above, we are both very hesitant to draw any conclusions. Equally, without launching a "Full scale investigation" its hard to be 100% sure, either.

What hurts the most, at this moment in time, is the card used for PSN has never gone out of her purse before, ever.

I've not got the PS3 on to check but you just go into your account details (it is likely to be set up to automatically sign in which means you let it) and you can just check transaction history. It then lists the downloads on that account and the costs.

As for the card, as another poster has said, the PS3 remembers it.

How does Paypal come into this?

Has the card been registered on a Paypal account and Paypal has been used to make the purchase?

You can pay for membership on runescape. the Runescape2S does sound very suspicious though as your payments go through Jagex the parent company which is a games developer and not through runescape itself. well, they do as far as I can remember. So it looks like something is up with that payment, perhaps the son got hooked by a phising email?

Does he play runescape (for PC), can't imagine any young person still plays it (10+ year old game)? If it's paypal/ebay related, could it be someones username (username is always displayed on bank statement e.g. 'PAYPAL , *MRTOM, 0203433332 GB')?

Just say that he may have been a victim of fraud, and that you need to check his PS3, PC and email address he uses.

Edit: Just to add Black OPs map pack is £11.49

The *RUNESCAPE tag is just the reminder, like ebay purchases.
It doesn't say where the money went, just a note so you can figure it out.

She needs to call the bank, they should be able to give her the company for the runescape thing, if it is a company...

Go on the PS3. Go onto PS Store. Go onto downloads and it will show items he has recently downloaded. If items that cost money are on the list - out comes the belt.

. . . but do it alone first for clarity and then get him to do it front of you.

Not going into his room to check (I should know this as I have my own ps3) but the black ops maps (someone mentioned they were 11.99) are coincidentally the only thing I knew he wanted. I'll definitely find this in purchase history, will I, if I ask him to show me tonight?

Yes, the card thef was him. Better that we see him as innocent until proven guilty, i think. There is a thread running on his punishment in the lounge. GF and I can't decide how to punish him, without making things worse for ourselves.

Yes it should do, I don't think it gets deleted at all.

Hi,

As a, previously, long term Runescape player I believe that Runescape2S coming up on your bill may be incorrect, perhaps a dodgy site that tries to steal credit card details!

I am a Bank of Scotland customer and it came up on my statement as

INFO.JAGEX.COM CAMBRIDGE GB

If I can ask, what was the amount paid to 'Runescape2S'?

The Javex was there too.
Not my account, or bank statement, but figures around 41 or 42.
He has already paid back £80 of his own free will, so there is no doubt in his admission of guilt that he did t use GFs card.
