Right -

I like the look of Forza 4, but the problem is I don't have an Xbox, and I don't know overly much about them, or how the whole Live system works. I have a decent size HD TV, and a broadband connection that gives a fairly woeful 3 MB at best.

What is the best setup to go for - will a wheel be better for driving games? Will my connection be up to the task? Is there anything else I need to know? Where is the best place to get an XBox at a decent price?

Thanks for any advice given!

All you will need is a Xbox, all the new ones (slims) come with a hard drive too.
If you like then buy a steering wheel, but there is no need to get a wheel or kinetic.

the wheel will make a difference, but don't splash out on all this stuff until you are sure smile

I'm not sure but I assume the new xboxes come with a hdmi cable, if not a getting one of the web is fine, there is no difference between a £2 cable and a £60 one.

You will (if u want to play online) get network access, I think the slims all have wireless in, or else you will need to run a cable from your router to your Xbox, to get it connect with minimal hassle put the Xbox in the routers DMZ.

Just get one from anywhere, I would expect a forza 'bundle' soon.

You connection will be fine, its mostly about ping anyways, not upload/download speed.

Thanks for the info.

What does Kinect bring to the party for Forza gameplay then?

Off to look at Xboxes then I guess!

Argos are doing forza 4 deals at the moment, and its worth getting a deal with 2 controllers too,
Best to get your Xbox live from a supermarket or from play.com or Amazon ..its cheaper than the Xbox site smile

Nothing of value really, apart form head tracking, if you turn your head a bit to look into the corner the view looks into the corner too.. If you have not played a race game before, then ignore that, as it looks like the view is wobbling about sometimes if you move your head, or one of your kids walks past smile

Does anyone think its worth waiting a month until the Xmas deals come out?
I'm tempted to get a bundle but can't help thinking it'd best to wait...
