Logitech G27 Issues

Hi Guys,
As some of you may know I bought a G27 wheel for my PS3. The wheel itself is in excellent condition and everything works well (including the calibration) except that while playing F12010 or GT5 the paddle shifters stop working and I have to disconnect and then reconnect the steering wheels USB from the PS3. When I reconnect it works again ok but after a short time the same problem happens again.
The problem started since yesterday and was not happening before. I am mystified as to what might be causing it and was hoping some of you guys could suggest some things if possible.
