SplitFish Gaming mouse for consoles
Discussion
Hello to those that are reading this....
Just wondered if anyone has brought or played with the SplitFish gaming mouse & controller? Did it work well enough/better than a controller on BLOPS as i see its aimed at that sort of game (i really cant get the hang of aiming with my thumbs and the BLOPS controller was aimed at the sniper rather than run and gunner).
Thanks

I have a Fragnstein controller as there were mixed reviews of the SplitFish when I was looking a couple of years ago.
Generally it worked pretty well, I think I had the odd moment of lost connection but it was a pretty rare event. Once I got used to how the controller worked I was much happier playing console FPS as I was moving from gaming PCs which I always felt were better with a mouse.
The main thing I had to get setup was a decent playing position, with a large mouse area so that you could make a decent sweeping movement. Having to take three swipes to spin 180 degrees was too slow and upping the sensitivity just made it difficult to shoot. Getting a large gaming mouse mat sorted that out.

Was yours the wifi or lead one? Was watching a promo vid of the shark and it looked very slick
It was the one with the leads where the two controllers are connected together and it really got on my nerves
I much preferred the Aimon PS due to it being wireless and much better quality than the SplitFish I tried. Maybe the newer SplitFish have improved over the one I tested.
i have the old Frag FXv2 from splitfish
great on CoD games, but useless on other FPS (Battlefield/Medal of Honour series) i found.. those games seem to have walk/run sway built that just doesnt work for me on the fragfx.
if you are a run'n'gunner i dont think its as good tbh, as getting it nice and smooth for gameplay your character wont turn as fast.. but im terrible on the controller and the fragfx at leats means im not frustrated at my skills.. i just have other things to moan about now!
takes a while to get into i think. i was worse with it than i was with the controller at first, but when youve played around with it more and more its a brilliant way to play.
nowhere near as accurate as a proper pc mouse, but i love mine and wouldnt game without it.
as others have mentioned the fragenstein (?)/and now other options are no doubt very good. i decided on the wired version as from the reviews both were v.similar i just didnt want to mess about with batteries.
The FragFX comes with a decent hardback mouse pad, which rests lovely on my sofa's arm rest for very comfy play..
I tend to play wasted (always fully Loaded
) and the mouse means i can recline the sofa, get comfy and chill.. with a proper controller i tend to tense up and need to sit up so it was never enjoyable.. where with the fragfx i can play pretty much comatosed and in a very natural way without thinking.
Whatever mouse controller you go for you will no doubt love it

Funny you say you get tense up, i think i often play the same. I find it best to lay down on the floor in front of the TV. but then i do preffer to play with a controller.great on CoD games, but useless on other FPS (Battlefield/Medal of Honour series) i found.. those games seem to have walk/run sway built that just doesnt work for me on the fragfx.

Might have to give one fo these mouse things a go! lol
COD i can play slouched back etc but just tried BF3 and im leaning forward so def need to track down a mouse as my aiming terrible with a controller.
Only trouble there doesnt seem to be any in country and the UK 'stockists' are charging £80 or youve got to wait 5 days for delivery...

Interesting. A few of the reviews I've read say it feels a bit odd compared to using a mouse on the PC because it's mapping the mouse movement directly to a stick. Can't feel any weirder to me than trying to aim a FPS with the stick though...
I've found a guy who's written some software that spoofs the bluetooth address of a normal controller and sends the mouse/keyboard input from a PC running linux. I've ordered a suitable bluetooth dongle so I'm going to give this try before shelling out for a SplitFish or similar.
