Would this work? 2 Xboxs and 1 Live account?

morning all
I'm thinking about purchasing another Xbox, one for online use and one for occasional online use in the living room.
What I want to know is if the offline one is used offline for games etc, and the online one is used on the same account, will they synchonise properly?
I/e if I play Skyrim offline, then connect to live now and then will it update my gamerscore/achievements even if the other xbox has been in regular use online?
Or will it just rub them off?
Anyone else got 2 Xboxs and one account?

Google says maybe. (seriously, the search took me about 27 seconds).
Your options would be to either transfer your live profile from one console to the other every time you play on each, which could be a PITA after a while. Or, just take your hard disk and attach to each console when you play.
Registering one live account on both consoles permanently will not work, as Microsoft stop the ability for both to be online at the same time, for obvious reasons.

It should work, they will synchronise when connected to live, your saved games will not though as they are on the HDD. You will not be able to use them both online at the same time either.
One other option is to put your XBL profile on a USB stick and just plug that into whichever machine you're using, then you always have your saved games available. If they're the old machines with removable HDDs then you can just move that instead.

This is what I do, have my XBL profile on a usb stick and whatever save games I am currently playing and plug that into whatever machine I am playing. (yes I did google this but I trust PH to give me a good answer)
My GTag lives on my FM3 USB stick, with saves for most of my games. Works fine most of the time, but can cause problems with DLC - once lost a shed-load of cars (some T10 gifts) on FM3 due to not having my VIP passcode registered on the stick (dunno if you can...). Also means some games I can't play online on the second Xbox, due to the online pass living on the upstairs machine.
Absolutely no problems with Skyrim though.
Ofcourse, all the memory stick shenanigans should be redundant with the next dashboard update and Cloud storage... If I choose to trust it, that is...

Well I have both xboxs now up and running, I'm finding that when I swap the HDDs across the xbox wants to do an system update everytime without fail???
On the "Online" xbox, it downloads an update, reboots the xbox and installs it.
On the offline one, it "extracts" the update, and installs it.
Before I go buy another HDD is there a way around it?
Also if I get a 16gb memory stick will I be able to install 1 game on it?

Isn't this all solved by using "the Cloud"?? Whenever you log in to XBL it picks up your active gamer profile.
Am sure a Friends son was round the other day playing on Fifa and he just logged in over XBL and picked up everything he needed automatically.

If that's the case then USB/HDD moving is about your only option.
One xbox in my bedroom, one in the front room and I only have one wireless adaptor. If that's the case then USB/HDD moving is about your only option.
I could swap the HDD and the adaptor everytime I guess
