Which game am i thinking of?

Need a little help if possible please, my gf's 2 boys have asked for a Nintendo 3DS game, it's always advertised on tv, but i never really pay any attention to it.
You can buy figures for the game, that i think, you plug into the DS aswell,
i can't think for the life of me what it's called, but i'd like to get it for them for Xmas as it's one of the only things they really want!
Any ideas on what it's called? I've been racking my brains all morning trying to think of it!

Not sure if its the right game, but all I could find from the mention of figures as well as the game.

ETA: Its called Skylanders, and appears to have figures that come with the game that save progress etc when going to a friends house to play. Could be what you're after.
