Serious Sam 3

I downloaded Serious Sam 3 today and can't stop playing it. What an excellent game; knocks Rage and FEAR3 into a cocked hat (whatever that means).

It's just what I want in a FPS - no thinking at all required, just run around and shoot things.

The graphics are as good as anything else (I'm running a HD6870 with a 9950BE Quad-Core and 8GB, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) and it's steady 50-60 fps @ 1680x1050.

The best game I've played so far this year. I commend it to the House !

I bought the first two for £2 on Steam a couple of weeks ago, they are still good mindless shooters. The HD versions even look ok.

If anyone thinks about downloading an illegal version, prepare for a surprise

I have Serious Sam HD on my 360's hard drive, it is great fun. I played the first ones on the original Xbox, and they were fun but fairly easy, whereas Serious Sam HD was easy and then suddenly hits an incredibly steep difficulty curve late in the game!
