Looking to help fund the purchase of a new Xbox after dreaded RROD (God I am missing Forza 4!!), by trading in a mint and boxed DS Lite and 3 games.

Can anyone advise on who they find gives the best trade-in prices - CEX website says that they would give £53, but there aren't many others (e.g. Game, Blockbuster) who quote online.

I've always found CEX to offer the best prices (even when spending a couple of pounds on recorded delivery to them because there isn't a store near me).

I charge about £25-30 to fix RROD xboxs, but I fear you're probably a bit far from me.

Buy an RROD repair kit online from Team Executer, isn't that hard to do and does seem to work.

The same sites that sell those also sell extra cooling for the box.

If You get a online print off of the prices from CEX then take them into Gamestation and they will beat each price by £1. Worth it.

HMV have an app which gives their offers for purchase and trade credit.

They're not usually very good in my experience though - so I usually go down the CEX+£1 at Gamestation route too, if I can't flog them on a games forum I frequent.

Tesco's were good!

I bought XBOX 360 + FIFA12 + F1 2011 for £200, then sold both games for £30 each even though i had advertised them at work for £25 and had several people turn their noses up!!!!!

I had the credit on a gift card and spent it on the weekly shop. Win!

You could fix your RROD with some thermal paste and washers. Really is very easy.

So much so, we have a post RROD'ed xbox at work to play on smile
