The old girl has given up. Began turning itself off and generally acting up, after I bought Skyrim I'll add! It now won't even come up all the time and upon the blue moon when it does get to the main UI it becomes very slow, unresponsive and then turns itself off only to go through a repair again and again.

So, a PS3 Slim 160 and BF3 is on the way via the missus who's in town shopping.

bks.

My old fat one died last year, when i had a broken foot. Have a 250gb slim but its not the same.
Strangely, mine ran perfect until the mother board went.

Now you will have likely lose all your saved data like i did with mine, which is an arse.

I am now too. Maybe that whole bottle of wine I drank in bed last night was a bad idea...

Slim back at home and installing Skyrim. Fingers crossed. If it blows up again it's going back and Sony can GTFO for good.

Mines YLOD a few days ago.

Thankfully I have PSN+ so all my saves were backed up and I didn't lose any progress on any game.

PSN+ is worth every penny just for it's automatic backups.

Glad when the Slim came out we traded in our fat 60gb. I remember with our fat PS2 during the delays of the Ps3, it was a regular occurrence for me to take apart the PS2 and hover out. Pop it back together and it always seemed to work.
