I asking all our Xbox experts for a little help with Forza 4 and the xbox kinect. I much prefer playing the game with the controller, but once you chose the controller on the first screen you are forced to listen to a Clarkson soliloquy and then play a rather restricted almost demo game. If however, you chose the kinect controller, you get all the options you would expect, choosing cars, tracks, autovista etc.

What Am I doing wrong and how do I simply change the control of the game to controller rather than Kinect and get access to all the normal options? It is very frustrating being forced to listen to Clarkson and not being allowed to play the game properly!

Another rather stupid question (I am new to this xbox gaming thing), how do you brake and accelerate using the kinect, or are you only guiding the car around the track ?

The Clarkson intro and demo/first race should only happen once. Complete that race (in a 458 IIRC?) and you are then in the game proper. Annoying yes, but as it only happens once it's not that much of a problem.

And you are correct, with kinect you are only guiding the car and have no control over brakes or throttle.

If only the Clarkson thing happened once, it happens every time I try and play using the controller, and even when I finish the intro game, I go back in a loop and start the Clarkson monologue all over again, it is the "groundhog day" of games. It might because it is a rental copy. It is a great pity as I would love to play it properly as it looks a cracking game.

I was hoping there was more the the Kinetic control than that, pretty pointless in that case.

Thanks for the info.

Are you saving the game to a hard drive or memory stick? Sounds almost like you're playing without any save data and it's forcing you to go through the intro each time you play.

I did the setup to the hard drive, but will check that is correct, thanks.

Gents you were spot on, there was an update for the game which had not downloaded, as my wireless was down, sorted out the saving issue. Thanks.
