Hi all

Just been playing MW2 online. yes I am a bit behind on games.

anyway admittedly I am not great at it. however some little st just messaged me to say 'UR fkING S**T'

I am sorry but what is the fking point of that? no doubt he a promising young footballer.

I know its stupid but just really annoyed the hell out of me. its really put me off playing which is just a game for chilling with a glass of wine for me. looks like I will be dusting off GT5.

anyway as you were

Just ignore them, I get that too sometimes and also get stick for being rubbish at MW2 or MW3, I probably am in there eyes, but it is a game, I do not take it seriously.

but I agree it is annoying.

Just ignore it! Unfortunately trash talking is quite regular on a game populated by 12 year olds! Just either ignore the message, Or see just how much you can wind them up!

I know you guys are right. Ive had a few others just saying 'ur so bad' or other things but at least that's jovial and light hearted. to actually swear at me is just out of line.

I couldnt help it I just said, made me feel better.

'Thanks for that. don't you have some homework to do little boy'

if you go into account settings you can change who you receive messages from to friends only, that will stop it.

I too have been back on MW2 this week. If you fancy a game or two on an evening my psn id is Killer_2005

And yes, I have had similar messages in the past, all of which I tried to reply with a witty retort

I got abuse off some kid on GT5 once for changing the track from the Nurburgring to Suzuka. Called me a "f*cking N00b" for picking the easiest track over the hardest...

Riiiiight. Missing the point there, son.

aholes are everywhere online, but that just makes it a little bit more fun when you find genuine respectable racers (in GT5's case)

You think that's bad, you should try some online only games, Christ. It's a rare day indeed where a game of League of Legends doesn't contain at least 5 insults from the enemy, or, more likely, your own team. Such is the way of the Internet and the freedom of anonymity, apparently.

Best thing to do is either ignore them completely, or, my personal favourite, agree with them. I got someone so annoyed by agreeing with them that they actually left the game one on occasion.

I have a similar experiences almost on a weekly basis, racing online a while ago an American lad, didn't sound much older than 15, said to me after I braked for a corner "don't you censored know how to control a car?" my reply was "yes I do, I've been doing it for ten years, do you? I'm holding a control pad playing a game"

For some of these kids it's all they do, whereas I only get the chance when I have literally nothing else to do instead
