Vintage Trans Am racing series
Discussion

Right, I know the Muscle cars in Forza don't get much love, I also realise this is probably a bad time to try and set anything up with everything else going on, so this is just to try and gauge interest in something slightly different.
I would like to set up a series based on the Original Trans Am races of the '60s and '70s, we would use any of the Muscle cars from that era and race on the American circuits (of which there are plenty) I have no idea of the rules or restrictions yet or when it will be, also, I won't be looking to start it until at least the Hot Hatch champ has finished.
Eligible cars:
'70 Mercury Cougar
'71 AMC Javelin
'70 Dodge Challenger
'68 Plymouth Barracuda
'71 Plymouth Cuda Hemi
'69 Chevy Camaro Z28/SS
'70 Chevy Camaro
'67 Chevy Chevelle
'68 Pontiac Firebird
'69 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
'73 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
'65 Pontiac GTO
'65 Ford Mustang notch back
'70 Ford Mustang Boss
'69 Dodge Dart
'68 Shelby GT500
'64 Ford Fairlane
Sub 2.5ltr cars, same rules apply:
'73 BMW 2002 turbo
'70 Datsun 510
'73 Ford Pinto
'65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint
Regulations, All cars must have the following:
Stock tyres but width allowed
Sport gearboxes
Maximum 16" wheels
Front aero only
No engine or drivetrain swaps, upgrades allowed
B500 max PI
Tracks: (in no particular order)

Road America

The real thing
I've added the list of cars to the OP, along with the regs and tracks.

Here's a list of eligible cars for the series, you'll notice not all of them are muscle cars and not all the muscle cars are there, I took these from the photos in the link above. If anyone wants a car that's not in the list just ask.
'70 Mercury Cougar
'71 AMC Javelin
'70 Dodge Challenger
'71 Plymouth Cuda
'69 Chevy Camaro Z28/SS

'68 Pontiac Firebird

'73 BMW 2002 Turbo
'65 Ford Mustang notch back
'70 Ford Mustang Boss
'69 Dodge Dart
'68 Shelby GT500
'65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint
'64 Ford Fairlane
I'd disqualify the '73 BMW 2002 Turbo, or we'll all be driving them Here's a list of eligible cars for the series, you'll notice not all of them are muscle cars and not all the muscle cars are there, I took these from the photos in the link above. Thanks Dan, any ideas which ones are glitched? I've no idea which cars are capable of what in the game.
I think there should be a few restrictions on upgrades, I would like a maximum wheel size of 16" (to keep the cars looking period) and I could ask for all cars to run race gearboxes and diffs.
It definitely needs more thought before it goes anywhere though

•1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock
•1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee
•1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Stradale
•1967 Dodge Coronet W023
•1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt
•1971 AMC Javelin-AMX
•1992 Lancia Delta Integrale EV0
•1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
As you can see alot of those cars appear on this list. It happens mainly when using a stock gearbox and then PI system goes nuts. But it will be obvious who has a glitched tune as it will be running 10-15 seconds faster than everyone else so easy to see.

I would say Sport Gearbox (so only the final drive ratio can be changed, will solve the glitches but keep everyone on the original number of ratios), standard wheels, and only width upgrades allowed for tyres to keep everything nice and slidey. It definitely needs more thought before it goes anywhere though

Awesome guys, when is everyone free?
I like the upgrade ideas, happy with the tyres, the rest we can leave up to the individual.
Perfect! I've been having a go at a few paint jobs for the '65 and '70 Mustangs, I've also got a SUNOCO camaro paint for the two Z28s plus a couple more, Dodge Dart and an AMC Javelin. I've been preparing for something like this for a while
