PC gaming frustration
Discussion
No internet for a while (another frustration) so thought I'd have a bash on Skyrim - Steam won't work offline unless you can get online so that it can check the game is fully updated before you can go offline - logic at its best.
Ok. Can't play Skyrim what about BF3 Campaign. Nope. Give it a couple of minutes and it stops saying that it can't connect to EA Online. So what, I'm playing offline in single player? Doesn't seem to matter.
Trying to find fixes while browsing on my phone is also hugely frustrating so I've now given up.
What happened to buying a game and simply wasting a few hours of your life? All I've achieved today is the latter without any of the former.

Problem with PC gaming now days is that you actually have to be online to play these single player campaigns! Most stupid thing ever and its only going to get worst in the future, when disc releases become a thing of the past.
I'm on my PC now (first time I have started it up in ages), so much stuff to update!! (BFBC2 is better than Battlefield 3 anyway) lol.

Have zero. Just moved house. No landline, TV or internet - should have been installed by last week but the provider (limited by monopoly) has no record of us even applying even though we have paperwork, password card and payments made.
To say I'm not in a happy place right now would be an understatement.

£20 3G PAYG dongle, 1gb of data included in the £20, job jobbed. They're incredibly useful. To say I'm not in a happy place right now would be an understatement.

I'll have to see if such a thing exists here in Dubai.
They do exist.Got to an Etisalat shop and ask for a 3G dongle. Was about EAD100 when I was there a few years back - although signal can be very weak in some areas (we were fine in Healthcare City, but next to no signal when we stayed at the Qamardeen or Al Mazil hotels - but they had wi-fi anyway).
Spend a few hours on this until it's sorted:
