After MANY years of cynicism about computer games, the OH had a go playing Skyrim and has seen the light.

So I'm on the hunt for recommendations of 2 player games she might enjoy. RPGs are good, but not Fallout 3 style. I can't see her playing racing games or anything too dark/violent/fast-paced but magic, adventure seem good places to start.

Any suggestions?

Proper old-school there, good games though yes

Gears of War series, Portal series, but the Halo games has to be some of the best to play through with a group. I had a lot of fun working through those games on hardest difficulties with friends.

Sure there's more that I just didn't think of.

Old School I thought it was still fairly new. Old school for me is sonic, worms, street fighter and mortal combat.

Thanks for the suggestions, played Portal 2 briefly for the first time last night - never played anything quite like it and I'm still slightly bemused by the portals but it looks great. Thanks.

Lego star wars? not that violent, and its easy enough to get into even if you know nothing about star wars. (Though it helps, the cutscenes don't give away that much of the storyline...)

Unless she's stupid and can't work out anything and you end up simply telling her the solutions to everything after you get frustrated because you've seen the bloody obvious answer for the last 5 minutes.

And breath.

If Skyrim made a good impression then maybe Lord of the Rings: War in the North is worth a shot. My GF doesn't play any games at all other than when we play this together (I have her dad to thank for her love of LOTR...actually F1 and good music aswell - thanks Paul!), it's a good two player game as you do end up covering each other and working together due to the amount of foes on screen. It also works well with her style of bashing through the game and my style of learning the button moves for cooler kills etc.......guess who always has the higher score though.....
