The best F1 manager game I ever played was the one by EA: 'F1 Manager 2000'

That was an awesome game!!!!

I remember taking Stewart all the way to the top and dominating, with Newey as my Tech Dir, and the Schumacher brothers as my drivers hehe

I loved that game.

Anyone know where/ how I could get a copy to run on Win 7, as I'd love to play it again?

One game I used to play was F1 Manager Pro.

Video of the original (1996) version can be found at:

A community developed 2010 version with a lot more features can be downloaded from the forum, only link which seems to work is in the post made on 26 September 2011 by flatbeet:

I occasionally play this on Windows 7 64bit using DosBox (comes with download I believe).

Another one is Team F1 (Pole Position) by Ascaron.

Again, happily running this on Windows 7 64bit using DosBox. One annoyance with this game I always had was when changing certain parts the mechanics would get 'stuck' and never put it back together without some manual intervention, also when creating my own team all the cars would crash or run out of fuel!

Great topic.

I was trying to remember the name of the one I used to play and to try and get a DOS emulator for my tablet.

This thread has reminded me of the one I wanted, but can't get the emulator yet... shame!

My 15 minutes of fame - I was a driver in the PC "Grand Prix World" (came out around the time of Grand Prix 3)

That was quite a fun game to work on

Yeh old topic but will give it a bump.

I'm still playing f1 manager 2000 and also had Stewart gp 3 times champs with micheal and Mika salo driver 2.

Just started playing it again and started again from the start. Surprised still had the saved progress from.previous with 125mil in the bank.

Other game I have is the f1 manager pro but got it to work once on old desktop comp and never got round to sorting it to play it fully but couldnt get my head round it

Motorsport Manager on Steam is 75% off at the moment as a modern alternative.

No official tracks, names, teams etc. but if you can see past that it can be good fun and there are some different classes to race.

Also, you can get the mobile version which is pretty good fun for killing a few hours as well.

Massive bump!

There is a new F1 Manager game out. PC, Xbox and PlayStation.

I’ve got it on the Xbox and so far two races in it looks good! Not had a chance to look into it all yet.

I've got it on the PC, it's very good - but bloody hell it canes the system harder than FS2020!

Ridiculous how hard it runs the CPU and GPU in simple menus, let alone in a race. (Currently running at defaults on a 3090 system - so anyone wlse who as had a play - I would welcome some tips!)

I decided to go with Williams as my first career. I don't know if they are that st anyway or if I'm making them worse! But I can do alright in FP sessions. Qually I can get to 17th. Then as soon as the race happens I'm struggling for 18th and 19th!

VSYNC set to ON seems to cue some of the stupid overuse of the GPU smile

I'm playing as McLaren... first time around I got sacked mid season! Now I'm a comfortable 4th and not pushing my luck! biggrin

Latest update has cured a few bugs and removed a few annoyances.

Still struggling at the back of the grid! Can get to 17th maybe 16th in qually and then it goes downhill during the race.

Are you experimenting with your own pit stop strategies in the race, or going with the solutions the game comes up with?

I've found doing something odd can make a big difference - and you only need points in a few races at the bottom end of the WCC to make a big difference.

I'm going to have a bash at Williams next, so far have played as McLaren & Haas. (McLaren seems very hard for the first 18months as you need to arrest a downward spiral fast before the board fires you!)

McLaren here too. I made some early changes to low/medium speeds and cornering and have found myself nicely settled in 4th place with only Alpine really challenging. Even had a 2nd and 3rd at Montreal!

Quick tips would be ensuring you get both drivers over 85% on setup confidence, maximising the new tyre update - for example at Montreal I pitted late for some softs and carved through a mainly one stop field and look to replace Riccardo (I’m going to bring Alonso back home soon biggrin).
