La Noire

Played on it quickly for 15min last night, looks like a great game. Graphics are very good and the characters mouths seem in sync with the diaglogue for once aswell

Anyone played it? Also why is there 3 (three!) discs? Must be a really big game?

Great game. Even on my dusty old 360 it looked perfect. I remember hearing about it years ago (circa 2002-4) but it seemed like one of those games was never going to be finished. But it's worth the wait. The environment feels so genuine, great details too.

And yea 3 discs the game is pretty big! One of the best looking games available for this era IMO, and it's massively under rated by people who just want to run around with a uzi and kill prostitutes with baseball bats.

Yeah, it feels very real and 'lifelike'.

I only remember having one disk for LA Noire...

I pre-ordered mine when I got it, and it came with new outfits, and some hotrods and stuff, and it was just an awesome awesome game, my only disappointment with it was the lack of free roam after it was completed, but other than that, I'd highly recommend it.

The xbox disks are quite out of date now so large games like this have more than one.

I missed this first time around, just checked out some videos on YouTube and it looks pretty decent

It's a shame you don't have it for the ps3 as it looks ideal to fill the gap until Grand Theft Auto 5 finally comes out!

Spookily I just started playing this last night as well.. borrowed it on PS3 off a fellow PH-er and so far I'm very impressed. The facial animation in particular kicks seven shades out of other games!

I just finished Max Payne 3 from lovefilm. Meh. Got a bit bored of murdering people and wanted to steal a car, but no, just more murdering and complaining of a hangover.

I might get LA Noire next, Chinatown and LA Confidential are two of my favourite films so I should like it.

i finished it with great happiness! - its very challenging to say the least.

Personally I thought it was terrible. Prescriptive, repetitive unexciting.
The environment was pretty boring to drive around in also.
Interview dynamic didn't quite work for me - I wanted much more options and fluidity.
Found the central character boring.

Just my personal opinion but definitely felt like a waste of £40.

Fantastic game. Really captured the era well I thought. Bloody hard to get all the trophies on PS3 as well!
