Settlers Online - Anyone else play?
Discussion
Having played Settlers many many years ago, I was pleased to discover the online in-browser version last night.
I'm currently working my notice period and have been pretty much sidelined onto phone tech support until the end of August with no real work to do - This should help me pass some time!
Does anyone else here play Settlers Online?

I think I've got the complete set of board games..the original is still the best though!
I'm still working my way through the tutorial levels. AT what point will it start wanting money?I think I've got the complete set of board games..the original is still the best though!
TBH I had started to wonder how they can make any money from it!
Having spent most of my working day investigating it does look to be not bad. Alot better that AoE Online anyway.
I saw the ability to buy "gems" for upgrades but it doesn't appear to hinder progress so far. We'll soon see though.
Not sure if it helps but if anyone wants to add me my username is snappypirate. Not sure at this stage if there are benefits such as trading.
Looks like a nice time waster

I also found the ability to buy "gems" with real money. So far I've not found any real reason to do so - The only frustrating thing is that I have run our of hammers and my toolmaker cant keep up. I however, could buy a few hundred virtual hammers for ten real pounds (but I wont).
How far are you through the tutorial? I'm level 13 and got 75 gems along the way. you can exchange them for hammers in the trader bit.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
