Wrap it in a towel (or 2) turn it on, wait for it to overheat (About 20-30 minutes), let it cool down, then turn it on.

Saw my brother jam the fan with cotton buds on his.

2 strategically place cotton bud sticks (minus cotton bud) on the back fan, give it 2 minutes and it resets itself..

Plenty of guides out there, just google the xclamp fix.

It may be something else, there is something you can do to bring up a code to tell you what the problem is with.

Good luck.

Red Ring? Wasn't that on the old ones? Might be worth a upgrade as much better unit.

Xbox 360 Slim 250GB @ Shopto.net - £159.85

£20.00 cheaper than Amazon
£40.00 cheaper than the highstreet and supermarkets.

My disk drive is failing slowly, but I'll be doing the same thing once it goes (currently on an Elite). Holding off until mine dies as I expect price cuts on their way. Far to many rumours about the next generation out there to ignore.

I've heard suggestions from a very well-placed source that it might be an idea to be a good boy in the run up to Christmas 2013 and keep in with Santa.

18 months + 6 months for hype and prices to settle = 2 year wait.

Tempting to get the replacement now then.

Buy a kit off ebay for £5, and fix it yourself. I've done about 15 of these now, and if I can do it so can you wink

Or if you'd rather pay to post it to me I'd gladly do it for you for like £20 or something? smile

The towel trick and stuff won't work for long and will potentailly balls it up more. It's worth having a chat on the phone with microsoft xbox support as machines of a certain age are covered to be fixed FOC. I bought one of ebay broke for £20 as it was the right age and got it fixed free a couple of years back

Depends. Worked for 2 months for me.

Does it have a HDMI slot at the back?
