Tiger woods 12 v 13 - any loss?
Discussion
Just toying with buying Tiger Woods 12 as I have seen reviews of 13 and they say that it is no better looking than 12 and the pay per play of some of the courses / challenges is disgraceful money making from EA.
any thoughts?
I'm not fussed about online play per se but after Battlefield and Mass Effect 3 I need something a bit more relaxing....

There is a new swingometer in 13, Its not bad, but I got to the point where you need to buy the courses to progress, and was not prepared to spend more on a game just for a few rehashed copies of wolf creek or predator.
If you do go for 13, make sure it is the Masters edition. Extends the life of the game by another 50%.

i got sick of the tiger woods games after the masters one i think. EA have been ruining it to be honest, seems theyre taking more and more out of the game, and the first day DLC is unacceptable in my opinion, you pay 40 odd quid for a game and then expected to pay another 10 quid for 2 courses. or you can buy your way through the game by buying all the stats.
they took alot of the training stuff out and the equipment etc.
also amazed at how the graphics have barely changed in the last couple of them.

I've been playing 13 for a number of months now, very impressed with the new swing control, it becomes very intuitive and a hell of lot better than the previous versions.
I play on Tour Pro with no green grid, caddy or boost pins ( the last being a stupid addition to the game really) and I shoot anything from -10 to +10 depending on the wind!
I think its a really good golf game, possibly the best I've played but you will need to ramp the difficulty up quite high for a long term challenge.

Just bought 13 & haven't played it since the MegaDrive days (I think). Grainger Games still have the Masters Collectors Edition for £25 (inc delivery) & my mate has just picked up a new copy instore at Bee for £20.
Game wise, I love it. Quite addictive and looking forward to playing it with some mates. Was unaware of all these money grabbing scams but I had been told to get the Masters edition for extra content although according to the pamphlet runs out around December fsr. As above says I was amazed at how basic the graphics are.
Well worth 20 quid.
