Grrr - PC game downloads (inc. discount code)

I just noticed a large computer chain who sound like they sell PC's all over the globe will let you download a copy of Saints Row The Third for £3.99 if you use the code 'PCGAMER20' so I thought I'd give it a go.
Had to register an account and 8.4gb of download later Steam pops up to install it and asks for my product key. Errr, what product key? Hang on, I've got an e-mail receipt from the online store - it'll be in that. No. I'll try customer services - no, gone home until Monday. Maybe it's in my account I've just registered. Go to log on - odd, doesn't recognise my e-mail despite having used it to send me my receipt. Grrr. Try a google - looks like depite taking my money from my credit card and sending me a receipt it takes some time to 'register' the account. So, they take the money instantly, but registering the account so I can see my product key probably won't happen until next week sometime. Of course I'm largely guessing at all this because the info I received after they got their money was zero.
So be warned, if you buy a download from the above, expect to have time to actually go and buy it from a shop several hundred times before it actually starts to work!

??? Your reason for saying that?Thanks for the heads-up OP, cracking price given that it's still £29.99 on Steam! I'm just downloading it now so fingers crossed. Can't help with your product key issue I'm afraid as when I checked out it showed me the CD key on-screen, so I copied it from there. Then went to Steam as per the instructions and chose the 'Activate a Product on Steam' option, entered the key, and away we go.

ETA - to make matters worse, because I haven't got a product key to enter, the downloader app has now lost the files so it wants to download the entire 8.4gb again! Arrgghhh!
