Xbox 360 - which one?
Discussion
Evening all,
My Xbox has finally given in to the curse of the red ring- it's lasted 6 years so I can't complain. Looking at replacing it now and things have changed somewhat since my version!
Elite, matte, shiny, Star Wars, Halo etc. So which is the one to get. Wireless and DLNA are built in as standard now aren't they? So a cheapish one would likely do me fine. Any good deals at the moment?
Thanks,
Ed

The 250GB slim is what you need man. It has all the memory you will ever need. I'd just find the best deal for a new one, don't go for a second hand xbox (especially if they aren't slim) because they are more likely to break. Also, you can look for some bundles, and see if you can get a game or two in for cheap, or you can get it with kinect if you want it.
Why are second hand ones more likely to break, exactly?
They may be more likely to be broken, but that's immediately obvious. OP, you can save a decent wedge by buying a second hand 250Gb, possibly with a few games thrown in, but make sure it works, and works on Live before parting with the cash, or do it over Ebay and Paypal in case it doesn't work, or is banned from Live.

Thanks guys. 250gb slim is what I will go for. Not too fussed about Kinect having seen the games available! Or should I be?
One thing, I've never really set up my Xbox as a home media centre and aren't sure what I'd use the 250GB hard drive for?! I never filled the 20GB one I had on my old one!

Installing games to the HDD helps with longevity, it won't run as hot or as loud (the new ones are very quiet anyway) once it's been installed but they do take up a lot of space (6Gb ish per game plus save files), so it's good to have the 250Gb HDD even if you don't use all of it. Plus, you can store music and videos on it as well.
