Well i've pledged £20. Would love to see a modern rendition of this. Lot of money to raise though with only 44 days to go ...

I've pledged too. I believe they have fund raising going on elsewhere that brings to total up quite a lot.

Pledges tend to go up dramatically during the last week of kick starter so it should easily do 1.2million, Star Citizen rolled in at least $1 million on the last few days alone.

With how big Frontier is, I'm surprised there's not a lot more updates as RSI were incredible with updates for Star Citizen.

Need more details first. Are you a person? Can you walk around your ship? Are there planetary landing? If you are a a ship, what makes it so much better than Eve or the X series?

To many questions, not enough detail.

For me it being 'Elite' and with Braben at the helm is enough. I vividly remember buying the first Elite. I knew nothing about it until I read that particular months C&VG where it had rave reviews.

I was even more delighted to see it was published by Acornsoft and was for the BBC :-D

I rushed into town after begging and borrowing £14.95 and purchased my copy from Games Workshop. Myself and 2 mates then had an agonising bus ride home to try it. It really was a superb game at the time.

I dont know if I want elite to be released! I spent far too much time in front the BBC B playing the game! I just hope they can do it justice!

New video - Braben geeking out on procedural generation. I'm a bit excited by this; he's one man with a very strong vision as to how the game will work but he's got a development studio behind him to do the grunt work, and quite a lot of money (nearly £600k now) to fund it.

Even newer video..finally some ingame combat footage, though with some placeholder graphics he says, and no sound

I reckon star citizen will be the flashy immediate fun game and elite dangerous will be the one we're still playing years later

I pledged on both in the end though....

Braben answered a lot of concerns in that video. The ship modelling sounds like something he's been working on for ages.

Anyone read the Kickstarter Elite Forums ? Looks like anyone who has anything constructively negative to say now gets shot down in flames. It's like a little club. Braben and crew arnt handling things very well at the moment in my opinion.

It's almost like they expect the Kickstart to work with very little input.

I hope they have something exciting up their sleeve soon.

I was expecting it to do better than it is...

David Braben has admitted they rushed in before they were ready to coincide with the launch if the UK kickstarter site, they can't flood us with ingame footage if they haven't made the game yet

I still think it will succeed though.

Just hope the little clique on the comments page will chuck in enough money to make up for any people they put off

update video available, and looking good

If you have any interest in space sims then back this, its the grandaddy of them all, its only problem is that FD have no idea about marketing!

Physics in that demo are troubling - it looks a bit too plane-y.
