Released this Friday! Glowing reviews so far.

I'm trying not to dwell on what it says about me that, as a 40 year old, I'm looking forward to the postman delivering this.... I really must get my 4 year old daughter into playing video games so I can hold her out as the reason why I'm playing Lego games wink

I was amused to note when flicking through the achievement list that there is one called "One Does Not Merely...". Fans of the Meme thread in the Lounge won't need any help determining how to unlock that one! tongue out

38 year old here and I am practically pissing my pants waiting for Friday.

I have no shame at telling you that I will not rest until I finish this game 100%.

Though I will be getting it on pc so no achievements here.

Agreed. It's a logical extension from the local co-op option.

I suppose the reason why they haven't is that the demand is more for local co-op only - so you can play it with your kids, for instance - or that it's more complicated than one might assume to incorporate MP via Live/PSN.

Lord knows Travellers Tales have had enough time and practice to do it, so they must either think there's no demand for it or it's just not practical to add.

Kudos on 100%-ing all the previous ones. I got to 99.5% on the Complete Star Wars game but just couldn't work out what the last 0.5% was for. I certainly got it in PotC, HP1-4, HP5-7, Batman and Batman 2 though

OK, sorry if I sound patronising but...

Common misses are:-

All the extras??

All Characters??

Have you watched the Indy trailer in the extras room all the way through???

All bounty hunter missions??

All gold bricks??

Built the golden block mini kit when you have all gold bricks??

Oh I sold it years ago - the pile of half-played and unplayed games is always so large that I'd find it hard to justify rebuying it just to have another crack at 100%ing it. That skiff-barge has sailed....

Thanks anyway though!

No probs.

I'm the same but my complete Battlefield and Lego collections are sacred to me.

Much to my wife's annoyance, yet strangely the 2 million handbags she has are not only ok but essential.

I get asked daily by my 7 year old son 'when is it coming out'.

Another huge Lego game fan here. One of the very few games (or rather series of games), that's kept me intrested to 100% completion.

MrsSE and I have 100%'d both HP ones. I've never got into LotR though, so might just have to let her play by herself. Shut your faces.

My copy has been despatched.

Shame Sainsbos don't send early like most retailers, but it was cheap enough to make it worth waiting a bit longer.

Lots of rumours of PC delays to this game. Nothing concrete but if you by this game by direct download you have to download it through steam.

Strangely steam don't even list it as available to buy.

I bloody hope there is no delay.

Heads up for anyone still looking for Christmas presents (for themselves) - Amazon currently have this for 20 quid, I think on all platforms.

Edit - not all platforms. PS3 and Wii, but not 360.

Well you are not going to like me saying this, but the game play is very poor compared to the other Lego games.

Tom and I love the previous Lego games and have all of the following:

Lego Star Wars TCS
Lego Star Wars III
Lego Indiana Jones 1
Lego Indiana Jones 2
Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4
Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7
Lego Batman
Lego Batman 2 Superheros
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean

Now we love all of these when playing them on the Xbox 360 together.

But this new Lord of the Rings seems slow and a step backwards.

We don't normally ever get stuck on these games, but several times we have got to sections where the only way to move on was a look up how to solve it on the Internet?

Tom has got frustrated many times, and throws the controller down because its just too hard.

I thought Lego games were supposed to be fun and easy to play, well all the previous ones we have are, but the jury is out on this one so far!,

Happy to be proved wrong though!

Sums up the lego series, have a couple of friends who love them, and would play a lot more if we could do it online.

Lost many hours playing this with my 7 year old over Christmas. We have all the other Lego games and this is my favourite of the lot. It's a little too easy but it looks simply stunning and the huge world you explore that links all the missions is great. There are loads of mini games (bash the moles, platform jumping bits, timed race through gates, and timed bash a number of statues, etc hidden around the map) to keep you engaged and lots of quests (people seeking an item hidden in a particular level) to add to the replay. Plus smithing of items once you've found the designs and have collected enough mithril to make it adds an additional element. On some of the levels you need to use 5 or 6 characters to solve the puzzles. Unlike the above poster we found all the puzzles to be fairly logical.

Definitely my favourite Lego game to date and one I will play through by myself. Like a mini Skyrim. Hope they release a Hobbit one in a similar vein.

Well done!

I 100%-ed it too, although it felt like rather more of a grind to do so towards the end than Lego Batman 2 had. Perhaps I'd have been better taking a break and coming back to it, rather than ploughing doggedly on until I had completed it.....
