Think of ordering a Wii U from one of the named places in the title as they seem to have the best prices but after reading a few reviews online I am having second thoughts as the reviews are mostly bad.

Does anyone know if there's anywhere matching there deal of £250 of a basic one with a game or has anyone got much experience with the named above?

They're pretty slow for regular orders like DVDs and games, but for consoles they're pretty good at getting it out reasonably quickly. No real complaints about them. If they'd had Mario in the list of games with the Wii U I'd have bitten, but they don't.

Cheers for the reply fellow.

When going through the checkout the only worrying thing is that they say,

"Stock will be despatched to you as soon as we receive it from our supplier."

So with it being a Christmas present it is putting me off.

Looking on the other sites, it seems that additional Wii U stock will be coming in at any point over the next two weeks. I don't know if the savings outweigh the risk of not having anything come Christmas.

Not had any dealings with Zavvi so can't comment on them. However, not so good experience with The Hut. I ordered some headphones from them and waited over 2 weeks before cancelling as they was also expecting stock. 1 day I phoned customer service asking where the hell it was and they said they had received the bulk order and was being dispatched that day. 4 days later after it not turning up they said they hadn't received the product yet but not to worry because I will receive it as soon they do. So some blatant lieing was enough for me to never rely on them again. I would probably use them if need be because there prices arent that bad sometimes but I just wouldn't rely on them.

I wouldn't bother with the 8GB one, there are reports that that capacity just isn't large enough:

Don't forget the cost of extra controllers and all that crap unless you have these from your wii previously..

Thanks Pazzini I think il give them a miss.

As regards to the basic vs premium I'm not to bothered as its for my little lad and I dont Intend on storing games on the hard drive and you can also connect a portable harddrive to to it so I could easily buy a cheapo 500gig harddrive and use that.

Unless anyone knows of any other reasons why the premium is more better than the basic except for the extra harddrive space and and free game?

Guardian got a piece on the best price:

Sure I read somewhere about the external drive not being so hot for playing games off of. Whatever, you pays your money etc. Premium has sensor bar and charging cradle for the gamepad which I think will be quite useful. Its supposed to monster batteries.

Really looking forward to Skylanders Giants for my boys, think they will love that.

Ive just got the best deal that i think is out there at the momnet if anyone is thinking of ordering one.

Ive payed 322 euros from Amazon in france which works out at £261 which includes delivery for the black premium version.

Expected delivery is the 12 December and the parcels arrive by City Link.

The basic version is £255 in Toys R Us and ive got the premium for £6 more than that, i also know people who have ordered from Amazon.fr in the past and had no problems.

The deal is here by the way. smile
