Like thinking mission games but don't like "you're a character with 20 things in a sack how do you open the door" type games but I like zelda in the past.
I've played GTA 3 didn't wow me
Played Gran tourismo 5 got fed up with hard bits (did VW van but lotus challenge finished me)
Should I stick to spacies?
There must be something ......

I got a bit lost with FC2 but this is on my christmas list. Huge sandbox game with lots of story based action.

Fallout 3 for Role Playing and fun things to do (pick pocket someone, plant a grenade, watch them walk away).
Far Cry 3 outdoes the classic Fallout grenade trick; stick a knife in someone, pull the pin on the grenade on their belt, then boot them off the roof of a building into two of their mates. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. The latter darker and harder (more frustrating for slightly inept gamers like me) to complete, and a bit less intuitive. Brilliant games both.
I'm a big big fan of the Lego games too. Absolutely brilliant. Funnier if you've eg seen the Harry Potter films before playing the Potter ones and so on. Not so keen on Lego Batman 2: I think it actually lost something in having voices added to it.

I've not played Far Cry 3 yet. I found Far Cry 2 extremely boring.. I just couldn't get into it; I hope 3 is better?
My favourite games / series of games on the PS3 have to be:
Assassin's Creed series
Bioshock series (can't wait for the new one next year!)
Fallout 3 and New Vegas
GTA 4 (GTA 5 out next year which also looks amazing!)
Metal Gear Solid series (although one game of the series is on the PS3
)
Just finished Borderlands 2 which was pretty decent. It wasn't what I'd call amazing, but it kept me entertained for quite a while.
Someone mentioned Heavy Rain which is a good shout! I really enjoyed that.
