Why do game developers seem to want to put lens flare everywhere. Especially in FPS games, I don't see lens flare as I walk around in RL so why do they want to cover my screen in lens flare ? Are we supposed to be seeing the action via the characters eyes or are we supposed to be watching recorded footage of the events which we are supposed to be controlling.
I've been playing a bit of Battlefield 3 Campaign, now I know there is a LOT to complain about in Battlefield 3 (and all modern console driven FPS games..) but c'mon, the lens flare is beyond obnoxious. It's ridiculous.
It doesn't look good and it doesn't add anything to the game except an annoying distraction.
