...obviously I meant WTF in the title! smile

My first ever PC game for YEARS! Bought as a download from GAME and it won't work on Windows 8!

Anyone have a solution? Laptop is an Asus N56VZ, so plenty powerful to run the game. Shall I just refund it and buy the PS3 version?

All advice appreciated. smile

It should work on Windows 8, is it crashing or just not starting at all?

The biggest reason I love console gaming - I feel for you OP, 'computer says no' just pissed me off too much.

sorry Op the convo went something like this..

MS: Okay anything on Win 8 needs to be certified by us and we want to charge a fee for every game you sell.
Valve: WTF? you guys don't own the PC architecture?
MS: But we have the monopoly on PCs so play ball or else
Value: hmmmm, well F**K you guys were off the Linux...
MS: Ha ha guys better enforce that secure BIOS "feature" that'll kill the linux folks off :evil laugh:

That's why Steam won't work.

Steam works fine on my Win 8 PC. Just installed it like normal. What errors are you getting?

MS backed down then? Either that or the win 7 backward compatibility made it good. Its not b*****s though Value is starting to look at linux now are they are peed off with winblows though.

Nope MS didnt back down. What you missed was that 'metro' apps have to be sold via the windows store. This excludes steam from selling metro games/apps directly. Aka eats steams lunch for this bit.

The normal standard steam desktop client and games works (or should) like it always has.
