Anyone used a Turtle Beach DSS?

My son is thinking of spending his Christmas money on one of these DSS sound processors. It is supposed to give vitual surround sound into his headphones when playing Battlefield 3.
Anyone care to comment on the effectiveness of this kit?

The DSS2 was the only thing on my list this year and it is amazing. I'm using it for BF3 too. It's simple to use and is the best thing I've got for my ps3.

I expected the front/rear separation to be more pronounced but actually it's more subtle. It is very immersive, but would need to be teamed up with some good headphones. I'm using some large over ear JVC RX300s which produce some amazing bass with the right equalizer setting on the DSS2.
