I've been playing this game online for a few weeks but have decided to give up. I've done well getting to 635 ranking but can't understand certain things. I use the manual accelerate manual brake. All aids are turned off. Steering sensitivity is nil so I have the best settings (I think) but, when I'm on pole I'm overtaken by cars behind or simply smashed into. When I'm in say 2nd or 3 rd on the grid, I can never out accelerate the car on pole. Strange. Other players drive through me and if I keep my foot down, eventually they get ahead or quite often my car will violently spin put of control. The other car then carries on at double speed and NEVER spins. I see cars clump barriers then carry on at high speed. When I sometimes just kiss the barrier at low speed, my car lurches across the track spins and ends up facing the wrong way. Many players do a doughnut at the end of the race. HOW ! ?

Does anyone have any ideas or better settings or tactics to help. Would be appreciated.

That sounds a lot like lag - you might not be seeing a true representation of what the other drivers are actually doing. I've not played online but I know that even kissing the barrier seriously ruins a lap in RR!

Yes it does but I've been in a mass pile up into a barrier with 4 other cars many times and only my car spins out 99 % of the time. There are driving tricks to stop this because I've seen many times cars hit a barrier then immediately rejoin 100 metres up the road. Recently, I have seen cars appear in front of mine and they seem to have jumped from behind. possibly the internet connection but It's all a bit odd. I agree with the lag comment and if I cock up then I accept that but some cars just seem to get away with things far too often and they are the same people time and time again.
