The marble madness vs portal is a bit far fetched too. Marble madness vs katamari Damacy seems more appropriate:

I think it is safe to say things have gotten slightly better.....
And of course the one thing that really is amazing - going on-line and playing against your friends and even chatting to them over headsets.
I mean, when I first started going on-line, it meant unplugging the house phone!

Totally agree on the connectivity - It still amazes me. Playing Arma 2 with infantry squads, air support units, artillery and armoured teams made up of multiple nationalities all communicating and working together to achieve common objectives in real time.And of course the one thing that really is amazing - going on-line and playing against your friends and even chatting to them over headsets.
