Has anyone else been having problems with Xbox live disconnecting lately ?

I know it is not my broadband as I have BT Infinity and the Xbox is the only piece of kit having issues, it is a new Xbox with built in wifi.

This problem has only started recently and I am wondering if it is an issue with a recent update, I will contact Microsoft bit was wondering if anyone on here was getting the same problem ?

I had a problem with mine dropping out which turned out to be the wifi adapter. It's worth trying it hard wired just to eliminate that as an issue.

Wired is definitely the way forward.

Homeplugs are a cheap and easy way to do this without having to channel wires all over the house.

I know wired is best but this is my lads xbox upstairs and it worked fine for a year and a half on wifi.

I will do all the tests and then contact Xbox if I don't get anywhere, it had only started happening the last couple of weeks.

I had the same issue and I couldn't find any obvious reason why it started dropping out when it had worked fine for years. I eventuall gave up trying to work out the source of the problem and just bought some Homeplugs.

If there's a relatively quick and easy fix, sometimes life is just too short to waste time trying to work out the whys. Wireless is so prone to interference from other stuff that it's not always obvious what is causing the problem.

Mine used to disconnect regularly. Since upgrading to fibre optic it has been fine. Maybe my old router was the cause. It has always been wireless.

I have had problems ever since I had had BT Infinity put in, I haven't found the solution yet.

If its when your watching Netflix from your Xbox its an issue with Netflix at the minute. Apparantly they are trying this new super HD out and its having issues with it on Xbox. I dont know the technical details but mine has been doing the same.

Could be that you've got a neighbour who has just started using the same WiFi channel and there's a bit of a conflict there. You can login to your router and change the channel it uses.

Might also be worth having a look at your profile on the HDD. I had this issue and it turned out my profile had got corrupted (it will mark it with a yellow ! If it is) once I re downloaded my profile it was fine.
