oooh, that is interesting. Kind of means I will have to buy a PS4 sooner rather than later

Something tells me I will have that on pre-order. Just hope there are Multiplayer vids somewhere.

Is this confirmed for current consoles? If its only on next gen and says 'fall 2013' in the trailer, does that mean the new consoles will be around by then? I thought it was generally thought that they won't be coming until 2014?

It looks impressive but let's face it, multiplayer is all anyone cares about hehe

I'm torn on this.

As a non premium player they have released the invite to pre-order the game on the same day as I can buy the last bit of the current game wich is just a fking cheek really, add to this the fact that BF3 was far from finished when it came out they can kiss my arse.

Another bonus is that when this comes out all the cheating, hacking, stat w h o r e s that have kept me away from BF3 in recent weeks will fk off and leave BF3 for me to enjoy.

But when all is said and done.... I'm a battlefield junkie and yeah I'll probably buy it.

Seems to be Ps3, Ps3, 360, 720 and PC
That looks incredibly gorgeous but also terribly boring.

I played Battlefield 3 for less than 30 minutes before I was bored out of my skull with its awful campaign. That looks a lot like like BF3 with nicer looking explosions.

I see they still haven't fallen out of love with bloom though. These Modern Military Shooters are like Transformers films, it's all visuals and spectacle and not much else. I don't know why they bother with the campaign.

Mutliplayer might be awesome though, I guess.

I really hope next gen games aren't just the same crap with better graphics.

It's confirmed on current consoles and the new ones which should be with us this year. Ps4 release said holidays so November/December but no news on the new Xbox.

I personall think Premium is a bargain, 30 quid for tonnes of maps, new modes and weapons. You pay £40 for a game which could last you 10 hours yet premium lasts months!
i'll be pre-ordering when I get home.

I've played BF since 1942 (the game obviously! hehe) I love the Multiplayer.

It looks visually excellent (finally using full PC power) but also looks amazingly dull and derivative. I feel like I have been playing the same game for the last 20yrs.

I think it looks fantastic. I've already lost over 200hrs of my life to BF3

It's definitely a step up from BF3. You can press E to open your own doors now.

That's a step in the right direction, isn't it ?

I mean, at this rate, by the time we are at BF759 we might have a game. Something you actually play, rather than watch.

I'm completely lost with the Battlefield series, I had the original bad company and I loved it, huge maps meant you could actually do a bit of sniping (something I love in these types of games) and you could destroy buildings etc, but Battlefield 2 & 3 I only kept for a short time, they just played like all the Modern Warfare games and involve sprinting around much smaller, but better looking maps, in an endless game of quickdraw, a lot less skill IMHO, it usually boils down to a who-sees-who first race against the clock.

Likewise I gave up with BF3 - yet I loved BFBC2 which is a vastly superior game.

BF3 is just COD under a different banner with a few different features.

If BF4 is anything like BF3 then I wont be bothering.

Does anyone know if BFBC2 servers are still active - quite inclined to trade BF3 in for an old copy of BFBC2!

Yup. Since the cheats in BF3 forced me out I have been playing BFBC2 for the last few weeks and there are LOADS of severs full of players.

Be warned though there are some damn good players.

'BF3 is just COD under a different banner with a few different features.'

Not sure how you arrive at that conclusion.

There are some similarities, but they are few for instance:

COD has no vehicles and BF has many

BF has no perks (i.e. care package) and COD has many

COD has no suppression effects, healing benefits and ....should I go on?

I'me not saying one is better than the other, just that there are fundamental differences that make them vastly different to one another.

BF3 does seem to have been invaded by spawn snipers and bunny hoppers - that's where i draw the only similarities to COD.

Battlefield 3 suffered quite a lot on consoles due to the restricted numbers of players, especially for the larger maps - you just didn't get the constant chaos that it should've had. I might bite the bullet for this and upgrade my pc.

My sentiments exactly! I pre-ordered around this time for BF3 then waited six months for them to release it. The initial release was woeful. We rented a 64 player server and had nothing but problems with buggy beta code, constant patches, server invisible, having to start server with just two players and slowly fill it up - and I am no stranger to server admin.

Then they de-sensitized the weapons because apparently they were two powerful.. after you'd spend most of your life upgrading to get them irked

So BF4? I swore that I would never buy another EA/Dice game again.

Yep I'm in wink

"BF3 is COD under a different banner" - well, I can only assume that whoever says that is either trolling, or has not played one of the two games they've named.

I watched a bit of a gameplay video for this today, it looks ok, the graphics are amazing but again it's a very cinematic campaign experience which usually is dull. However, let's not kid ourselves, the campaign in a BF game is a tech demo, the multiplayer is where the real meat is at.

The campaign footage posted (that 17 minute jobbie) looks bloomin superb. Never really got into BF3, but this one's a day one purchase - sod CoD and all its techy-xray-scanning-iPad-gun-shock-charge-dildo rubbish.
