Hi,

I'm a complete newbie and only recently got COD: BO2 and have a few questions?

Is there any good multiplayer walk throughs or guides?

How do you call in a streak perk? Like a UAV? (I know, complete newbie)

I normally just play campaigns on these sorts of games as I tend to get PWNED online but to my shock and horror I found online a blast!

Cheers,

T1b (F1lter_UK)

What format are you playing it on? For xbox to call in your perks you press right on the d-pad. To select one (if you have all three attained) use up and down on the d-pad.

As for MP guides, play a few bot matches first (iirc it's called combat training) - that will give you an idea of the map layouts and so on, but there's no replacement for just jumping in there, doing a bit of headless chickening. Baptism of fire, that's what it's about!! biggrin

Hi Mr Happy

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm playing it on the PC. I've just looked at the manual and it looks like its keys 1 - 3.

I think I'll try a few bot games tonight but yep your right nothing beats getting stuck in smile

Depending on what you're used to with online FPS, Blops II is a bit mental and fast paced - on close quarters maps it can be an absolute riot. Hijacked is a top map for domination. There's nowt better than locking down half the map with guardians...

Admittedly, I cant really get along with Blops II, not sure why as it should suit my headless chicken rushing style, but ho hum.

I think they have tried to make it more like MW but fialed! Its not got the run and gun feel like the MW series has/had. plus the weapon balancing is ste! one shot with a f@ucking SMG from the other side of the map yet at close range takes 3 or 4 AR rounds to take someone down (all on HC)!

Well, I spent most of last night (Ok 1.5 hours) getting my butt handed to me, but I did start climbing up the rankings on my games as I was able to level up weapons etc.

think I'm now heady lvl 12 (woo hoo) so after going for a run, doing tea for the Mrs, I'll try and get online and do some more grinding.

Must be a way to spead it up? smile

Enjoying the break neck pace though and yup, Hijack is an awesome map. On the guns it does seem that Assaults are nerfed?

The quickest mode type to rank up quickly with is probably kill confirmed or hardpoint. Also worth noting that UAV's providing assist points for kills by other team members helps you build a pointstreak quicker.

If you're into sniping, that's the one area where Blops II seem to have improved over MW3 (which was alright for sniping). The sniper rifle raise times are great and feel solid (previous COD's felt a bit like you had a pumped up potato gun with a scope attached...

sniping always felt a little too close to *camping for me, so i'm moving up to assaults after last nights battering.

Did OK, but need to level up a decent assault rifle (before SWMBO calls time).

  • Nothing against it as a class just my view smile please don't flame me

I'd suggest an SMG over an Assault Rifle in CoD, been a while since I've played BLOPS2 and I know they've recently toned down the SMGs a little, but I'd hazard a guess that they're still the better pick, faster firing, just as powerful and just as accurate in 99% of the confrontations you'll find yourself in, unless you're trying to get someone across the distance of one of the bigger maps.

They say one of the worse things about coming out of the closet is having to become a sniper in COD wink

PDW + silencer
flak jacket
fast hands
tactical mask
emp grenades
C4 or semtex

Thats a good starting class that should make you harder to kill and use one of the best guns in the game. Set UAV, hunter killer & hellstorm as your killstreaks.

Get on combat training, your looking to learn routes from one side of the map to the other, and look for long lines of sight.

Spawn points are fixed too and worth learning.

Get on youtube. Loads of guides on there.

I run with assault rifles, managed to unlock my diamond ones! biggrin

Some people on this game are stupidly good though, also the quick snipers are an absolute pain in the ass.

If your on PC try playing with an xbox pad, might find it easier.

Sure-fire way to get your anus handed to you on a plate, that'd be like turning up to an Olympic 100m sprint in a pair of clogs.

Think I'll stick with me trusty WASD methinks smile

Skilling up a different assault at the mo, not sure if I'm waisting my time as its the one unlocked at lvl 30 \ 31 ?

at work at the mo so don't know which one that is?

Do you guys run multi perks? or is it just over kill and two primaries?

Cheers T1b

To be fair, it does help if your making the transition from console to PC.

I run multi perks if my playstyle dictates it. For example for capture the flag i run ghost/lightweight & dexterity/extreme conditioning when i'm running the flags.

My advise is to experiment and find what works best for you.

I just ditch grenades and secondaries and use 3 primary add-ons then fill up on perks.

I only use assault rifles, cant get on with any of the other guns.

Got diamond now, but still trying to figure out what my favourite is, I'll do well with certain ones for a while then suddenly start hating it! Haha

Do you play HC or core? If it's HC than smgs are pretty unbeatable. Quick to draw, faster firin than ARs and mount is faster. The mp7 with QuickDraw and stock is very good but any attachment you like works!

Don't listen to a knob on here called Norbry (hi mate! smile ). He will tell yuu to run around with a LSW with no perks and grenades and a rocket launcher.
