I bought a refurbed PS3 from ebay and I can't get it to connect to the TV. The seller is happy for me to return it but I wondered if there is anything obvious I am missing.

No matter what I do I keep getting a no signal message on the TV. The internet recommends resetting the PS3 as it may be set up wrong, but this hasn't cured anything.

Thanks for looking.

If the HDMI cable is good as soon as you connect it should get a message a HDMI source or similar should be shown on the screen.

Sounds like it's transmitting in a style your TV can't deal with, there's a sequence you can do which will make it transmit in SD and you can set it correctly from there. (think you hold the standby button down for 10 seconds and it beeps twice).

It didn't come with an HDMI lead, just the red/white/yellow socket cable plus a scart connector.

I think this is the problem but have tried doing a reset.

It might be set for HDMI 1080P or something, and your TV can't deal with the signal as P-Jay says.

Oh for heaven's sake. Sorry for all the duplicates.

OP, you're welcome smile

The same happened to me once; short sinking feeling, followed by relief.
