Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm

Surprised I've not seen a thread for this yet. Has anyone got the new expansion for SC2 yet or playing it or are RTS games not cool anymore?

Bought and downloaded the digital edition last night so will fire it up tonight and give it a go. Really enjoyed the SC2: WoL so looking forward to playing this one.

Lol, I am partial to a decent strategy game too from time to time and not just an FPS god

I picked it up and installed it and played through the campaign and enjoyed it toroughly. Liked the Zerg based campaign which suited me better as that was the race I played multiplayer in WOL.

Not sure I'll play any multiplayer this time around though, don't have the free time to put in to being any good although might play through the campaign again at some point.

I'm playing my way through the original campaign first as it's been ages since I played it before I jump into the new one. Might even dabble in some Multiplayer once I've finished both campaigns. I played some MP when it first came out but usually got my a*se kicked as I'm not Korean

I might give it a bit more of serious go this time round though.

Finished the campaign on Hard pretty quick. Didn't feel as difficult as WoL but then maybe that was just overcomming the learning curve.

It was all very nice but I think I preferred WoL. Some interesting mixes in the missions in HotS but the lack of humour was evident, Zerg humor... does it exist?

Multiplayer for me has thus far consisted of playing against Hard/Harder AI 2v2.

Finished the WoL campaign and playing my way through the new one now. The story is pretty decent, it's nice to get the Zerg perspective on things but while it's been great to play, I don't think it's quite as enjoyable as the first campaign, mostly due to the fact that I just don't think Zerg are as fun to play as the Human's.

Kerrigan herself is an interesting character to use but the mainstay of Zerg gameplay is basically to amass as many creatures as possible and Zerg rush which is quite unsubtle and means most of your units become a mass of cannon fodder. The unique human units where much more interesting to use IMO. Still enjoying it though and will finish it before jumping into some online matches (as the humans of course )
