Ok, bear with me please as I'm a complete halfwit and novice to this whole gaming thing. What I do need is some help setting myself up so I can learn UK race tracks. I already made the mistake of buying a new X-Box 360 which doesn't support TOCA, so I've decided to dump it in exchange for a PS3. I've bought a Playseat with G27 wheel and pedals and now need to know whether new PS3's will support all the old PS3 games or do I need to find an older console? Also, could you good people please give me some advice as to the best racing sim games out there that have a good selection of the major UK tracks? Anybody want to buy an X-Box 360 + Kinect with only about an hours Forza 4 use on it?
If I am solely using the PS3 for racing sim alone, will just the 12g PS3 do? Last thing, what's this rFactor thing all about? Thanks for the assistance.

I'm not sure any console games have a particularly great range of UK tracks, not a ps3 expert at all though as I don't own one.

I can tell you about rFactor though which requires a PC, most are user made tracks so they all vary in quality and accuracy. I find most are enough to feel your way around though. Graphics wise it's not amazing but it's enough to get you by as the driving side of things are pretty good.
Most major UK tracks are catered for, Oulton, Cadwell, Silverstone, Croft, Brands, Knockhill etc. etc. You'll even find the odd smaller one around too, I think there's a Harewood Hillclimb track too which is interesting.
It also has a vast array of different cars to use too, but again these are on the whole user generated so vary in quality, a lot of them are great though.
I've even done the Green Hell in a GMC coach painted in a hello kitty livery.... biggrin

You really need a PC for UK race tracks.. between iRacing, PCars and RFactor you will have a good representation of UK circuits.

That's good info, thanks. Now the technical bit. I have a fairly laptop. Can I get a schematic as to how I connect the Playseat controls, laptop and telly? I suspect I need some extra leads?

Play seat and wheel will connect via USB so easy enough. Your laptop to TV may be slightly more difficult. Does the laptop have HDMI out? If so, bobs your uncle. If not you'll need a VGA lead most likely. Maplin and probably PC world will have them.

Wether your laptop has the grunt to run the games is another thing entirely though!

All this! Plus if its only VGA then you might want some kind of audio cable too.
