Which Call of Duty!?

Fired up the xbox again recently. No games and no online connection (yet!). I want to play one of the call of duty games, don't mind if it is a new or old(ish) one, as long as I can pick it up pre-owned. Which would you recommend?

I have played them on and off since COD4 onwards, although can't remember much of any of them. Most of my time was spent online.

COD MW1 was my favourite, by far. Imo they got a bit crap as the series went on. MW2 was ok but blatently more tarted up than MW1.

I found black ops to be really poor.

For campaign I would say Black Ops is better but the MW storyline better online

Mw2. Best game ever, we played that game solid for two years online.

MW has the best storyline and it continues into MW2 as well.

Depends if you want modern war or WW2 really. I always preferred the WW2 ones but MW2 was also pretty good.

MW2 or BO1, both had a good blend of old COD style large, interesting maps and the new COD features and responsive controls.

B01 comes with zombies aswell though.

Mw2 is great for the on line stuff. However I'm not sure how it players online. I chucked mw3 in last week and it played fine on line. No obvious hacking and overall it felt a million times more complete than BO2!

Call of Duty 4: MW - by far the best game, yet it's ruined by hackers now so not worth playing.
Black Ops 2 - Anyone who says it's a bad game, should give up their console. The best cod since MW

I agree that CoD4 was the best - perfect blend of great gameplay and slightly arcade.

However, if you want something to play online then both CoD4 and MW2 are hackers playgrounds now.

Save yourself the headache and get battlefield instead

COD4/MW1 is where its at. MW2 campaign was good but multiplayer is rife with unbalanced weapons and glitchers. Both mw1&2 have suffered due to infinity ward breaking up and no longer supporting the online modes.

If I had enough time to carry on playing I'd buy Battlefield over any of the newer CoDs.

MW2 - the best.

Blops 2 - a close second.

The MW games just feel more finished - both single player and online, although Blops 2 is much closer than the crapfest of Blops.

Takes a little while to get used to the quality of players, but it's much less a "game" and is more focussed.

Since I got BF3, I've not touched COD.
