So are there any players on here? It's a google game, and you use your smartphone to find portals out and about in the real world. There are two sides you can join and each one is trying to take over all the portals and link them together...

It's a random bit of fun but people (on the internet) seem to be getting sucked into it.

Resistance lvl 7...... makes the lunch run at work a little more interesting. Surbiton's a hotbed of blue activity usually so you should level fast there.

I know but Patrician and his better half Adorabelle are both L8s so it's a real Burster sink. Also he in particular seems to have taken a (friendly) dislike to what I do as whenever I go out and knock things down / build up green he's always back within the day, but when others do it he's happy to let them sit.

It probably doesn't help that he knows me as we bumped into each other earlier this year and we've had a few beers to get out of the cold! We did have a non-aggression pact on each others' "home" portals but I've subsequently moved and no longer have a handy home portal to claim as my "own"

Still I should put more time into it, especially as Surbiton's currently a blue L6 farm as of yesterday!

Lol - Yes indeedy! That little bugger netted me about 15k, which was nice.

Who are you then? Small world to find another local player on PH!

One of my L7s was on that portal so I got an email.

This conversation is pretty funny for someone that has no idea what you two are talking about

L5 enlightened...live in the Highlands with abuot the same number of portals in a 100 mile radius as you'd find in one street in the likes of Edinburgh, for example, so levelling up takes a fair bit of time! Need a wee bit of inter-faction cooperation. Also hard to build up lots of stock. On the plus side, keeps you driving some nice scenic routes pretty frequently.

I'm in.
Just finished the tutorial, then went for a walk at lunch. Judging by the comms channel, I seem to be the only player in a 40 mile radius, so this may take a while.
Does anyone run this inthe car/on the bus/train? I didn't get to cover much ground in the 15 minutes I was out and about…

Sometimes use the car but 90% of play is within a few minutes walk of work or home. Big advantages to those who live/work in cities

There appear to be a total of 3 portals in the town I work in, and two more in a village I pass through on the commute. That's all I've managed to find. I think I'm out.

EDIT: I didn't realise there was a map! This changes everything!

As it appears that all the portals local to me are in the other teams hands, this should make things more interesting. I may have to make a couple of detours on the drive home…

Impressive stuff. There are a few people who take this game very very seriously. Happy to say I don't although not knocking those who do

Just found this thread in the search, I've been playing for a couple of months, I'm L4 Resistance.

Taunton's nearly always blue, there's two other high level Resistance players local and there's an odd visit from the Enlightened from the next town along. I have six portals within 10 minutes walk from work so usually get the chance to visit them a few times a day, plus another 10 or so within 5 miles. Gives me a good excuse to get the car out on evenings and weekends.

I've found a few portals I can get to without getting out of the car, I find the handiest thing is to set the screen timeout to 10 minutes and go for a drive as an easy way to fill up the XM bar.

Ah - it seems some people have found the thread! :-)

Although I started it - I am only level 2....in the cities there are lots of prtals but they all tned to be quite high level so you can't really attack them or replace them...just hack.

Out in the sticks I'm hoping to turn my village green whilst no-one notices!

For the un-enlightened - explanation here:-

Found out about this 3 days ago, just before heading off to Spain for a few days. Just about got my head around the tutorial, and have managed to grab a few neutrals as well as turn a couple of opposite faction portals, which I then used to create a field for some extra AP.

Only L3 so far (Resistance) but I expect to make a bit more progress when I return to the UK.
