Teaser trailer...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQEbPn36m1c

Coming to both next gen consoles and existing. I started to go off these after MW2 personally and the latest two have received so much st from players - so I'm interested to see if they will try to capture some of the market that drifted over to Battlefield like me or whether they will stick by their simplistic style targeting an 18+ game at 12 year olds.

It looks like a game where you shoot a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then you have a quick time event and then you shoot a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then you have a cut scene and then you shoot a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then you get to wait for someone to open a door for you and then you shoot a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man and then a man.

No doubt it will - but will it actually reclaim any of those that ditched it and bought Battlefield? If it is as simple as the previous ones, no doubt it will dominate the U18 market, but it seems adult gamers want more. I think BF4 could replace it as the dominant FPS this year.

It is a st game. Same st, every year (fair enough this year, looks like they have got the line up from deadliest warrior rolleyes )

The only reason it sells by the bucket load is the little 12 year old kids crying to their Mum to get it for them because all their friends have it.
And then the other people that buy it expect it to be different and get bored of it within 3 months.

It will also be hacked within it's life. It's Infinity Ward this time. And they really can't grasp the concept of security.

I don't think anyone can call it a st game - as in truly st. As you say, if it was truly st it wouldn't sell by the bucket loads.

However, I think the important questions are; is it better than the last CoD and will it be the best CoD so far?

Well I'm 45 and enjoy each incarnation of COD, never got into BF mainly because my gaming time is rarely the same as others on PH etc, therefore can't enjoy the group tactical games and just want something I can pick up, play for 10-15 mins (or an hour or two).

Because cod and its ilk have the power and audience reach to actually come up with something new and interesting. I enjoyed cod, uo, cod 2 and mw1. But since then? Same thing just slightly shinier and less doors you can open yourself.
If the 12yr olds (who shouldn't be playing it anyway) didn't buy it so mindlessly we might have actually seen something new.

Quite agree, I've traditionally been CoD through and through, but looking at BF4 compared to this, I have to say that BF4 looks far more interesting.

I have had every COD since MW1, and have noticed a steady decline with each iteration, which offers nothing new or exciting over the previous game. Don't get me wrong, I do love a good bash on it with a couple of mates every now and again, however they really need to start offering something new. The campaign seems to be forgotten about most of the time, which is a shame as some of us do like to play it. I never understood those who bought a COD game, and then only ever played multiplayer; they're basically only playing half the game, but didn't pay half the price. The developers know that people tend to shy away from the single player/campaign mode too, as I've noticed that it seems to get shorter with each incarnation (took me 2 months to complete single player on MW1, and yet 2 nights on BOps2).

The multiplayer is seemingly made to appeal to the 12 year old children, no real strategy or thought required; an earlier post was right, it's just aim, shoot, reload, repeat, maybe calling in a UAV or air strike along the way. Yes, I am aware of the different game modes, but more often than not, I seem to be the only one playing the objective, where everyone else seems to just run around shooting each other.

I watched the gameplay reveal last night for Ghosts, and it really didn't appeal to me. The only thing I thought could be interesting is the use of the dog.

Compare any COD to a Battlefield game. Battlefield 3, similarly to COD, has a poor single player campaign mode, which seems as if it was only there because the developers had a few spare hours left. However, the Frostbite engine makes a hell of a lot of difference to the gameplay no matter what mode you're playing. Buildings collapse, RPGs and tank guns blow huge craters in the ground, it's a much better system, and the annoying 12 year olds can't camp behind a wall if a tank comes in and blows the wall away.
The online multiplayer is no contest. Battlefield offers so much more; there's more ways to play, you have to work as a team to reach an objective, the Frostbite engine makes everything epic, you can drive or pilot vehicles (I do realise that COD offers some killstreaks like chopper gunner etc, but these are limited), bigger maps, more players. Converting from COD to Battlefield can initially be tough, it put me off at first, however it feels so much more rewarding.
The connection online seems so much better with Battlefield too. EA and DICE have dedicated servers, which is far more logical than having a host player (which seemingly is always the person with a connection speed barely touching 2mbps), and the spawning, while not perfect, is much better.

Compare the gameplay videos of BF4 and COD Ghosts and see for yourself, but in my opinion the difference between the two is as big as the difference between PS4 and Xbox One. That said, while I'll probably only buy a PS4, I'll more than likely still end up buying Ghosts when inevitably, all my friends do and start badgering me to play with them.

Interesting video on Battlefield.

I'm looking forward to Cod Ghost as its made by infinity ward who make the better Cod games. Not sure about the leaning around corners though.

Not all the people who play Cod are little kids. There's a fair share of them but you get them on any game, admittedly there are more in Cod but that's due to its popularity.
