I used to love these kind of graphic adventure games back in the day. What are their modern equivalents? anything worth playing?

Captain Morgane!? It is nowhere near as good as Monkey Island but it would do!?!?

I guess you haven't heard of Telltale Games then? Basically the adventure game bit of Lucasarts gone indie. They've done a load more of Sam and Max and some more Monkey Island too.

How about the Broken Sword series? There is a new one under development by the original people, courtesy of kickstarter.

They were a bit more grown-up orientated, but I used to love the Tex Murphy series of games. The Pandora Directive was excellent.
