I'v always been an Xbox fanboy and I don't like anything about the PS3, and I'v always said I'll get the new Xbox no matter what..

But no offline play without connecting every 24 hours, no sharing games, a camera and mic that you can't turn off and it always watching/listening to you?

And its £80 more expensive.

I don't know what to do!! frown

Get the one that has the exclusives that interest you the most.

Undecided.

At the moment I'm thinking PS4 based on price and ability to play second hand games at the market price, not one set by Microsoft. However, Live is very good - the PS4 needs to be a better multiplayer machine to really convince me. I also prefer the xbox controller in the current gen so I would need to be happy with the PS4 controller.

I'll probably wait for a few months after launch, then make my mind up.

Only exclusive that will slightly interest me is Forza but that isn't a dealer breaker!

... and think of Forza 5! You know GT6 just won't cut the mustard in comparison. To add my stance, I've owned both XB360 and PS3. I sold the PS3 a few months after purchase, but the XB360 remains and is used pretty much daily, whether it's games or Netflix/catch-up television smile I had set my sights on the new XBox, but I have to say, the new PS4 is a more tempting proposition.

All that needs to happen now is for a third party to design a controller that looks and feels similar to an XBox controller, but for the PS4.

I'm a bit worried that Drive Club may not be a sufficient substitute for Forza though frown

It will be the new Xbox for me. I used to have the PS3 and a 360. The PS3 quickly started gathering dust and it was eventually sold; Sony just don't cut it for gaming these days. In fact, they haven't had the 'best in class' console since the PS1! They've lost their way, which Microsoft capitalised on. I doubt I will bother with the new Playstation at all, I'm not chucking money at another Sony product only to realise it's inferior to the competition.

My Dads got a PS3 and I'v had a go and it didn't impress me at all, the menus are horrible and the controllers are small.

But the new menus look more like they do on the 360 and it looks like they have made the controller longer.

Was planning to drop a deposit on one of them today but having a really hard time! Haha

Yes il be ditching Xbox even though I've had one since the original.

Microsoft has messed up big time with the Xbone. My Internet was down for almost a month a while back so that would mean that I would have a £400+ Xbone under my tv that would be useless if it ever happens again.

Not to fussed about second hand games but its nice to trade in or to borrow a friend a game without being restricted, add to the fact that the Ps4 is slightly powerful and almost £100 cheaper then its no contest. And I'm what some may describe as an Xbox fanboy aswell.

Also the new Final Fantasy online will only be on the PS4.

But Elder Scrolls Online is on both!

As far as I can tell, the only reason to get a Xbox one for me is FM5. That's it...

I have a PS2 and one game (Fifa09), for which I paid £3 when it was in the sale.

I still play it a few nights in a row every couple of months.

I might give this generation of console a miss, but I may seek out a newer version of Fifa once I've won the European Cup with my Fulchester United team.

(all the above is true - but I can't believe it's true that the new Xbox has an always on camera and mic, stops you playing second-hand games and requires an internet connection even to play offline, and yet people are still happy to pay money for it)

I'm out for this generation. My XBOX hasn't been on for months. PC gaming is the winner this generation IMO.

Slight hijack but why is the general concencus here X-Box controller >>>> PS Controller?

I've hated the XB controller when I've used it, too big and doesn't sit right wheras the PS controller seems to slot perfectly into my hand. Is it familiarisation through years of use from fanboys on both sides?

Or do you feel there's proper design flaw I'm missing?

I had an Xbox and PS2 - the PS2 got most of the game play.

I've got a 360 and a PS3 - the 360 gets pretty much all the gaming, and the PS3 gets turned on maybe once a month to watch a BR disk or to use it to stream iPlayer etc.

MS appear to have done their damnedest to put me off buying an Xbox One. It's way overpriced, it's restrictive in how you can play used games, I have to buy a Kinect unit I have no intention of using and I have zero interest in using it as the "one" box in my living room.

I doubt I'll buy either on release. I've got enough 360 games to keep me going for ages. I might consider buying one when the novelty wears off and the price drops. As things stand, it would be more likely to be the PS4. I do like collecting achievements (in a way that trophies never grabbed me), and I prefer Live, but it's not enough reason to stick with MS right at the moment.

I'm the same as you but feel like we're in a minority. I think its more down to what your used to. Dualshock feels right, XB feels way too big.

For me, the offset sticks work really well for FPS games and the XBox controller itself has a nice weight to it. It certainly feels sturdier and better built in comparison to the PS3 controller ... IMHO, of course smile

ETA: The XBox shoulder buttons and progressive triggers are much easier to use too!

I cant stand the offset stick, however the xbox controllers are ALOT more robust than PS3 ones.
