eBay discount codes - scam? How does it work?

Despite the good feedback, it seems to me to be a scam, otherwise how could people just give these codes out?

I do quite fancy this game, so it's tempting if it's legitimate.

Based on the Neutral comment I've pasted below its probably a link to one of the catalogue sites like Very/littlewoods (and whatever sites they own) where a new sign up with a credit check gets a 50% off or some other discount voucher code. You'd probably be able to find it with a little googling.
