Hi guys,

Got a bit of an issue with my wheel set up. My desk is pretty thick so I am having to mount my wheel on a seperate board and then G-clamp this to my desk.

The issue I have is any curbs I hit can be heard all over the house as it virbates the desk, also the desk it up against our next door neighbours wall so he gets to hear it as well (dont think he is a motorsport fan lol).

Any ideas how I could reduce the noise? Thinking of mounting foam to the board to act as a blanket between the weel and the desk.

I use a cut up foam camping mattress under my wheel and pedals, seems to help a little. In rFactor my G27 makes a horrendous noise hitting kerbs etc with certain mods though mad

Yesterday I received a rock solid sequential shifter that feels like it came out of a proper GT car but that makes it extremely loud, to the point I don't feel I can use it frown

Thats boss! Didn't realise the G27 could take different gear shifters.

I actually have an old camping ground mat that I can use as well as some really strong double sided sticky tape.....I see a plan forming!

The shifter is one of these

The action and "clunk" is very satisfying but it really is very loud and it would disturb others. I'l have to mod it somehow or it will have to go frown

As you said, putting foam between the clamping points would be a start, and even between the desk and wall could help.

Failing that, you may have to succumb to turning your FFB down. frown

Foam will just make the wheel wobble on your desk with high FFB - I tried it and couldn't bare it.

Only thing I can think of is getting a Wheel Stand (pro) or something so actually have the wheel attached to something other than your desk.

What sim are you playing? With the ISI based ones you can actually tweak the kerb rumble which may solve your problem.

Wheel stand pro is a good choice, you do then tend to get the vibrations through the floor though. My wife complains of the thunk thunk thunk through the floor that my G25 does it I trigger the ABS on iRacing.
