Help COD Black Ops won't load?

Got myself a PS3 a few weeks ago, thought I would get myself into COD with the original Black ops which I got online from game for about 8 quid delivered, and came next day.

Put disk in, asked it to play and wanted me in install update 1.13 of 63MB, so allowed this.

But the game just won't start have tried 10+ times, it gets through the "treyarch" sequence then get a white screen for a few moments, then black screen and the system freezes.

Had a google, and there seemed to be a problem a few years ago, but surely the latest download should work fine?

Had a look at the disk, there is the odd very light mark, but nothing serious.

It's on a brand new super slim PS3.

Am really disappointed

anyone any ideas?

Have thought about this, if I upload my data from other games to a USB stick first.

But can't really see why this should help.

Just tried deleting the update, turning off wifi and loading on the original without update, and it's not loading at all!

So am wondering if it's something to do with the update?

It's the ps3 mate. It happen to my mate ( when we was playing bo1) he even got a new disc.

Surely it can't be a case of the PS3 won't play a game designed for it? And surely loads of people have played it on the PS3?

Purchase Battlefield 3. Problem solved.

Not sure if will have any thing to do with it but their online servers are all down atm.

Just tried online support, basically just told me to try it on a different console.

Think i will give up, and buy another game!

That the attitude! Stick MW2/3 in there any play a proper game like the old days.

Wish Blops2 would stop working.

Battlefield 3 - Play with vehicles too... Oh, and C4 which you can put on an enemy vehicle, then wait for them to drive/fly off in it.. Then press the clicker.....

Yep, gone for battlefield 3. Watched some gameplay on YouTube, looks epic.

Hopefully this will play.
