Xbox 360 hard drive upgrade.
Discussion
So i have googled and googled and googled and i can't seem to find a good DIY guide to upgrade a Xbox 360 hard drive to something significantly larger.
Obviously this has been prompted by the recent release of GTA5 as this has a rather large install.
Does anyone have any experience upgrading an original Xbox360's 20GB drive? I've found a bit of info taking the caddy apart. But i am well aware of the fact that the Xbox's hard drive has some pretty specialist software on it, so i'm wondering what the procedure is to do this.
I work with IT equipment so i have no problem taking it all apart or using cloning software.

why not just buy a 120gb xbox drive?
granted you could probably do it cheaper but for loads more hassle.
I'm happy with hassle as its in my nature to take a PC apart and upgrade, thats why i work in IT, and i don't want to pay the prices that they are asking for the tiny little hard drives.granted you could probably do it cheaper but for loads more hassle.

The price depends on how much you value your time.40 quid for an xbox 120gb disk, plus about a tenner for the transfer cable. Plug it in, it transfers everything, job done in about 10 minutes. That's what I did, and it couldn't have been easier.
If you buy a different drive, you're going to save, what, 10 or 20 quid? For how many hours work?

Just buy a cheapo 120Gb (needs to be a specific type) and run a few programs and you are good to go..
Total cost is about £35 quid when I did it.
Just google for a tutorial.

a 120gb can be bought for £20
we sell them for that much and we've had a 250gb for 30
Just looking on Ebay there are some 250GB standard edition hard drives going cheap, do you know if you can transfer your data with a USB stick?we sell them for that much and we've had a 250gb for 30
This is the guide I used when I upgraded mine: http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/console-guides/xb...
Pretty straightforward I found.
