PS3 4 Days Out Of Warranty: Any Chance...?

Guys,

Turned the PS3 on this morning and it made a clunking sound. Turns out it was the Blu Ray drive dying,

DVD's work just fine but games and Blu Rays aren't loading, just clunking.

Checked the Tesco reciept and I purchased it on 27/10/2012, 4 days and a year ago. Reciept states all electrical items are guaranteed for 1 year. Am I to assume I don't have a leg to stand on here?

Anybody had any warranty luck in the past? Advice needed and appreciated!

Mine was well out of warranty when it stopped reading discs altogether. I chanced my arm, called Sony, they collected it and gave me a refurbished one a few days later. It was cheap but it wasn't free, though: I think it was around thirty or forty quid.

When my 1st one die I rang Sony and was told I was out by 5months!!!! Thinking it's game over he turn around (Sony) and said he swap it over this 1 time only, happy days. Give them a ring.
