I want one either a ps4 or Xbox one but unsure of what to buy!

Had a 360 when they first came out & loved it. Particularly the forza games.
It developed rrod twice so I got it repaired & sold it. Bought a ps3 with the money as a few of my mates had them. I've just sold my ps3 & am ready to place an order ASAP.

I really only want the xbox one for forza.

Your thoughts please?

Much love

Decide which exclusives would interest you the most.

For me, Gran Turismo and the Naughty Dog games are enough to get a PS4.

This.

With games being more and more geared towards playing online if you buy a different console to your mates then you'll be on your own, I was swaying towards the switch to a PS4 (from Xbox 360) but decided against it when my mates were pretty much set on an XB1

They're sticking with their ps3's for the time being.
We don't play the same games these days anyway

Then I guess it would come down to what exclusives you like better. The PS4 now has party chat which is a bonus for Sony but the Xbox has had that for years and its also back compatible with 360 players.

What sort of games are you in to? Forza 5 looks great but I haven't seen anything of the PS4 equivalent (I assume Gran Turismo?)

I have been playing battlefield 3 online since it got released & I'm into FIFA. Drive club looks like it could be a decent ps4 game. I tend to prefer the more arcade style driving games

Drive Club looks a bit more arcade-style, think Forza Horizon rather than Forza. Need for Speed: Rivals is also coming out on both consoles at launch and looks like it will be great.

I've got pre-orders in for both at the moment, the PS4 I'm definitely keeping and really looking forward to, XBox One not so much, Titanfall looks amazing and is a real draw for the system, but it's not out until March next year and there's no real reason for me to have one before then.

Asked which of my current-gen consoles gets the most use and I'd answer the 360 every time, so it feels quite strange swapping over to the PS4, but it just seems to be the better package as a dedicated games machine at the moment.

I like the look of drive club. I'm sure I read that the release date had been put back?

I actually have a pre-order through GAME for a PS4 and killzone, but the more I have thought about it, I know I would prefer Forza 5 (GT5 was such a disappointment), and apart from Killzone, almost all of the PS4 games mooted so far are available on the X-Box.

Also loosing the media abilities of the PS3 makes me wary, as I do use the console as a media centre now and then.

Also the scare stories about the Kinect watching you are all balls anyway.

The XBone is dearer but I think I may swap my pre order come 2 weeks.

The only issue I did have was that COD: ghosts is a digital download card in the XBone bundle. on my 2mb crappy connection that would be fun to download. so may get standard box then buy forza and COD as discs.

You're right, it's not out until next year now.

Almost all of the games are available on both yes, but at the moment it seems that the PS4 is the more powerful system, rendering both BF4 and Ghosts in a higher resolution than on the 'bone. It's early days and hard to see what that will mean in 5 years time, but it's a little bit of a worry that there's already a clearly defined gap in performance between the two.

Microsoft also have a review embargo on all of the launch games until at least the 12th of November, whereas lots of PS4 reviews have gone up already, is it just Microsoft wanting to save the reviews until nearer launch, or further evidence of issues?

This is how I feel. GT5 was poor IMO. I really want a decent driving game on my next console. The ps3 ones didn't get close to forza.

TBH I am not that fussed about the quality of the graphics, as at this point in time, graphics are simply being tweaked or smoothed out.

I remember when each jump in console or PC card evolution would be like looking at an 8-bit block and photo real (this is then proven to be balls 5 years later and we all laugh at how stupid we were to think PS1 visuals were 'photo real' haha)

Now its more a case of being a teeny bit shinier than before. Crysis 3 runs pretty happily on my PC with most things sitting at about 3/4 of max, and its not a crazy PC but has a beefy G, card.

Also Microsoft putting review bans in place sounds pretty standard fair for how they have run this launch.

The issue is how this cloud thing works, will it actually make a difference or simply marketing guff? I do know that the games will still look amazing on either machine, but my PC will still look the best of the 3 smile

I just think that with the outlook and going by the last gen's experiences, X-Box will have the better exclusives I think. But we will see.

Next issue is to see if I can get one now I have changed my mind 2 weeks before release hehe

Maybe better to wait till both machines are out & people like ourselves have actually lived with them for a bit

Other thing is, once the developers get used to coding for each machine the graphics exploitation of the hardware will improve. Talk of XBone OS needing 10% of processing/ memory power may change once the devs use it more and MS may tweak with updates.

Good examples of this is on the PS3 with things like 'the last of us' and how much the graphics improved over the initial release like Killzone 1 etc smile

The one benefit for the Xbox is their close partnership with EA, for example on the FIFA Ultimate team mode has these exclusive "Legends" cards of players like Pele and Van Basten etc.

Definitely, I'm playing The Last of Us at the moment and the graphics are stunning for a PS3 game.

Well I'd say it is likely they will get PS4s then.

So when you get on-line multiplayer games you can all play.
