O dear, hopefully a quick fix or only a small amount of units affected. As above it's pretty normal for issues but no heads will be bleating on about it for a decade now.

If the numbers are correct and it is only a 0.4% fail rate then I'm not concerned. I very highly doubt it will affect me when I get mine, although I don't think I'll be picking one up until the new year when some more titles are out. I might buy a new TV first to make the most of it hehe

0.4% isn't bad compared to xbox 360's 33%. I just hope mine works when it comes!

Most of the RROD issues did not manifest themselves until after some usage, very little were DOA. It's possible these consoles were just a bad batch, but time will tell if there is a possible manufacturing defect. Unsure how many production lines Sony would have setup for these.

I think I'll be holding off buying a PS4 until the technology is proven then (I was planning on buying one when the price is reduced in future, as I tend to get little use from my Playstations compared to my Xbox).
