My thoughts exactly...

I have entirely different thoughts however, about the Blond Irish critic...

Parappa the rapper! Would have loved that game if I had the slightest sense of rhythm, always got stuck on the first couple of songs!

Loved the monkey Islands section.

Dem eyes lick

I enjoyed that, bit of a nostalgia trip to start with. Always find it fascinating as to how far games have come in ~40 years.

ETA: Parappa the rapper... There was another play station release around the same time with a similar concept but I can't remember the name (and I bought it!). You loaded it up, then put a music cd into the PS1 and based on the beat and rhythm you had to tap along to the song, and it was a stick-figure man on the graphics. Can't remember the name and it's bugging the hell out of me!

They went for the more innovative angle on a lot of those - A few I hadn't really heard of, and Parappa may have been the first of it's type, but it wasn't really that great. Missed a few that deserved recognition - Super Mario Kart, Final Fantasy 7 for example.
